TOMY COMPACT Char-G 40mhz (mini rpt)

Well I know that there are reports already posted, but I have seen some questions rise up like "Where to get/order?"...and that "they don’t even exist"...(lack of Internet research..that's all) but the point is.. no one has ever posted PERSONAL pics or reported that they even had the official one. So I just want to end that, with some pics of my new Pride and Joy chassis. It’s the Compact Char-G straight from the UK. I could not find it on e-bay, and if I did it was really expensive.......So I searched and searched until I came up on a site. For those who are interested www.myfirstyears.com. it took them about three weeks to get it to me and it was NOT cheap..about $45 altogether. I know I know, that’s way too much, but I had to get it for the convention I never went too .

First thing I noticed was that the stock engine is a 2.2. All instructions in English, they had only 4 cars avail. And the only other freq. avail was the 27mhz.

Initial Inspection/RUN
On the first run I noticed that it came with a nice long antenna, not the short ones that TOMY is now using and even better news, CC on the Remote. But where there is good there is bad. There was CC on the Rx though. But I will not even touch it. Steering was good, but after some minor banging around I had to move a few notches. After inspections she was ready for running and DAM was there RANGE. So at this point to internal surgery including the antenna MOD. It's too risky to ruin anything and this very expensive Import.

RACING
I know what the biggest question on everyone mind is.....can this run with the Bit 45 and the ZZ 49 and 49 MS......The answer to 2 of those questions I can answer..the 45 Bit reacted very well around the 40. Some minor interference experienced by both of them but only when close and very bearable. As for my 49ZZ it seems to be very good, since there almost 10mhz apart, and when racing against each other, there really seemed to be no interference and if any very bearable. I do suggest that you are all across form each other.

Summary
Should you get one? YES
Are they fast and have GOOD range? YES
Expensive but worth it to add another racer? YES YES

So enough babbling and on with the PICS

Cool, thanks for the report. Were you able to test it near a 35MHz too?

From other reports that i have read...YES it soes seem that the Comapacts have better range.....I did try it against a 35 and that was no problem either......SO.....this confirms it....actually not unitl I run a MS 49mhz car then the true results.
