Q-steer or Bit Char-G?

Hi all, I'm new to this, so please don't bite!

I am currently looking at getting myself a Q-steer as it's very compact and, I'm lead to believe, it can be modified to go faster and work better. I think that I've decided to go with the hot shot buggy, but am open to suggestions if thats going to be a poor choice. If there are other options on the market that are equally small and compact, but are easier to modify and of a similar price range then I'd like to know.

From what I understand it's posible to upgrade using the upgraded motor from a bit char-g and the faster gears, but I'm not sure of how to do it, where to get them, and which one to get. I've also seen that people have changed various other things about them that make them last longer between charges. If it's posible, then how again.

I realise I'm asking a lot for a first post, and would greatly appreciate some help.
