It's a 3rd party Motor offered by Driftking.
Personally, I'd rather spend the extra buck or 2 for the 3.8 motor.

3.4
hello, I am the retailer of the 3.4 Darkside. I am in no way knocking the 3.8 because tinyrc.com are good retailers by standing behind what they sell, but out of 300+ motors we have sold so far, only 1(1) has been defective (this one never shipped) we test the motors on our custom dyno to ensure top RPM. 2 cell-it, run it to the ground, drag it, recharge 30 times in a row-it... it'lll keep running. We did thorough testing and have yet to make it fail. Believe me, it is hard to make a high RPM motor that doesnt burn out quickly. The 3.4 is the highest we tested that maintains reliability.

I have a DKS 3.4 and have never had one problem with it. It made my LXX fly. I decided to try it in a clone called "Rally Racer" and it makes the car go almost twice as fast as in the LXX. In my LXX my car would flip on most turns at full speed. In the clone it flips over on every turn.
You can't go wrong with one of these in an LXX.

Can you tell me if you had to up grade the battery inorder to use the 3.4 motor also I am thinking on putting the motor in both my lxx and tomy Mircosizer. I dont want to buy the motor just to find

I bought (2) 3.4s from DKS and they are everything he/she says they are. They are very reliable rotors and are also comparable to the 3.8 I just tested out....albeit, I don't run any of my cars with the 2 or 3 cell mods that most of you guys are running with these rotors.
Also, the Drift King Shop is a honest retailer...I've never had a problem with any purchases made from there.
