NiMH rechargables problem

On a full charge, my 4 RS Nimh rechargable batts last about 15mins, then the car starts to get slower (and boring) I am using awd and a stage 2 motor, is this normal, or should I get new batts? It gets really annoying, as my charger takes 9 hours to charge them! my quick charger is out of action, as i need a plug adaptor.

would the batteries last longer in an xmods evo with the same hopups?

1.2v 700mAh
the green RadioShack NiMH rechargables

If this is normal, what batteries should I get if I want to last longer on one charge?

I cant solder to save my life, and I dont have a spare £40, as ive just bought an xmods evo car chassis with full electrics from ebay

my xmod gen 1 struggles to tun a full circle in my 5ft by 6ft kitchen, will the evo chassis do better then this? and will the carge last longer in an evo chassis?
