Just stopped by my local RS, and they had an F150 and a G35 they were using for display models. The G35 had a coroded battery compartment. I asked if they would be interested in selling them, and they gave them both to me for 10 bucks.

The G35 was missing a crystal, so I popped one in, and cleaned the battery compartment, threw some batteries in it, and it fired right up. I didn't have to do anything to the F150, just changed the crystals, and it ran perfect. I spent last night cleaning up the wheels and motors (they both had a bunch of crud on them), and now they're like new.

I ask every RS I go to for floor models and returns. It's not very often you get a score, but it sure is sweet when you do.

haha... i picked up a hummer the other day for 5... it was missing one stock wheel... and no controller... but it was coo... ive been picking up all the hummer and truck upgrades cuz i wanted to pick one up when they hit 30... =P... but i asked and he gave it to me for 5... there were two more g35's that i might see if i can get...

5 bucks. Man that's a great deal. Does it work, besides missing the wheel? If you can get the same deal for the G35's, I'd say go for it.

I just found some body kits for the G35 and the 150 for 5 bucks each, so I bought them. I haven't had a chance to play with them this weekend though, plus I bought a set of crystals to use with them, and I'm waiting for them to come in.

I also just bought a lot of Cyclona and Perfection Bit clones, and some DigiQ's. Not all of them work perfectly, so I spent some of the weekend tearing some of them apart to see if I can get them to work, and learning how they work in the process. So far I got 4 of the six working, but I'm having steering problems with 2 of them. Only one of the 3 DigiQ's work, and havent' had a chance to look at them yet.

it works... but the range is just bad... about 2 feet... i removed the antenna and it becomes like 1/2 a foot... so the antenna is working [in a sense]... didnt see any corrosion or anything abnormal on the circuit board... so i'll prolly switch out my circuit board from the firebird and put it in the hummer... and we'll see from there... iono... but 5 bucks and im not upset with it... =P...

and i guess half the fun of cars [full size down to the 1:64 scale RCs] is that you get to fix them now and then...

man....my local RS dont even bother sellen XMODS....besides me, they cant find any other sucker to buy them....lol, j/k

Once, I went into a RS location and got all the cars they got returned to them over the year, plus all their display cars. FOR FREE! I built a few good cars from all the spare parts in that box and gave them to my friends. I still have parts lying around now.
