Window Tinting
Anyone have any good methods to tint the windows?
I don't want just solid black...but a more transparent black...like the real thing...or like my bB has.
thx

A couple ways
Testors makes window tint spray paint, under their Model Master line.
Or, take any regular paint and thin it down a lot, it will leave a transparent coat.
Both of these are tricky, especially to get a consistent spread. Since Bits are so small, using spray tint shouldn't be too hard. I personally would put paint tinting on the inside of the body.

If your bit has clear windows, what you can do is get celophane(i hope i spelled that right) paper and glue it on the inside of the body...I used red celophane paper and it is cool cuz its also transparent and if you do a good job then you cant tell from the outside that its celophane paper... you can find them in most craft stores..

Black model paint applied on the inside works great.

I use Tamiya "Smoke" and airbrush the inside.
The more coats you put on the darker the tint.

Haha, just the thread I was looking for!!!
I was thinking about tinting my skyline windows so I will have a Black skyline, with black rims (initial D/tune-up chassis) and tinted windows for a dark machine!!! I just wished there was an easy way to make a remote control operated headlight switch so you can skid around in the dark and FLASH!, bright white lights illuminate the darkness.
BTW I'm still sticking with using black paint with a good ratio of thinner.

Well you can REALLY use real tint
I actually use do-it-yourself window tint roll found in Home Depot. Its too pricey just to tint a bit charg. I used it to tint my home windows, and used the scrap for my bit. You can see my car in the other forums. To install the tint, just wet the windows, and apply the sheet of tint.

Easy way is...
Take the easy way -- Use a black perm. marker and color the inside of the windows. Don't think it would look good? Check it out, it looks AWESOME.

permanent marker works... check out my "rate my car" thread.... i used red permanent marker....
the thing is it's gonna be pretty dark... which you may not want...
also, you can use rubbing alcohol as remover... but it'll could the plastic a little bit... i say stick to the other methods.. testors tint thing that dracos was talking about..
