Question Dual/Triple Batteries and PCB Mod

First post...so excited. Thanks to every one here, I was able to put 2 cells in my car and mod my antenna (damn ****ty range 27mhz). I put two 50mah NiCads in my ZZ and I'm very pleased with the results. It's very quick with the NOS motor and green gears. I'm now wondering several things:

1. Can the ZZ board handle a 3rd or 4th cell for 3.6v or 4.8v (I have 2 more)
2. Will I fry anything by doing the PCB mod with my 2.4v/3.6v?
3. Will the PCB mod help me run a 2.6 motor I have? (right now it can't, it runs very very slow, it hardly moves. I'm guessing something to do with current or my 50 mah NiCads.)

Here's my part in helping guys who haven't done a dual batt mod yet and may have my setup: After I got the batteries in, connected, and soldered, it wouldn't charge. I had done the controller mod to get the batteries direct to the contacts. The charge would last for maybe 15 seconds. At first I thought my batteries got fried in the soldering process. Problem was solved by making an external 4 AA charger with a RadioShack battery holder. I love tinkering. Hope that helps someone.

BTW. Don't flame my ass if this stuff is answered somewhere else, I read the ZipFaq, QFM, and searched about 3 diffierent forums. Please treat me like I've been here a while, cuz I have, just observing though

I use 3 batteries in my charger. You said you use 4. I usually charge for 2 minutes. How long do you charge your car for?

I've been charging for 2-2 1/2 minutes. Wasn't sure, I just do it till they get a little warm, which was a good bet according to the hobby guy that sold me the batteries. He said they use temperature sensors or another sensor to detect when the current reverses coming from the batteries.

hmmm... I didn't know about the charging issue, that's good to know! Thanks!

Here's a question: Are there 2.4v batteries available? I see lots of dual battery mods, and I wonder if that's just because bigger batteries don't work. I would think that just using a 2.4V or more and 150 or more mAh battery would be more efficient. But I'm no expert on electricity. (That's probably obvious).

Anyone have answers to my question regarding the 2.6 motor? I would think the dual batts would make it run nicely. The only think I can think of that would give more juice is another battery or the PCB mod. Well, besides swapping a bit PCB which I don't want to spend money to do, plus those tiny steering wires freak me out. So, would the jumpers over those two resistors get the 2.6 going?
