I just bought one of the "Micro Q Full Function Radio Control Cars" from E-Bay for $6.95 plus $7.95 (hehe) shipping. I wanted to check out various clones around and see how they rank against ZZ, Bit-Gs, and MicroSizers.
I have to admit... the car looks a little cheap, but it has some REAL nice features and is a DEFINATE mod potential.
1. Rear axle IS removable. Its as easy to get off as a ZZ.
2. Chrome color rims on the car.
3. Tires are removable.
4. Bit Char-G bodies SEEM to fit with a little modding. I tried my Xanavi body on it and only noticed that the front and back slots need to be made a tad bigger and the wheel wells made a little wider. Note: With the body on it, it seems to look like a low-rider.
5. Same motor as ZZ and Bit Char-G. It uses the same means of holding the motor in as the Bit.
6. Antenna is NOT tied in a knot under the PCB.
7. Stock motor is 21,500 rpm.
8. Controller is mirrored after the Bit Char-G/Microsizer.
9. Manual says available in 27, 35, 40, 45, 49, and 57Mhz. I haven't seen any frequencies except for 27 and 49Mhz. Maybe the manual was for international as well... <shrug>
10. Compartment on left side of controller. Basically an "empty" charging area.
I think all the above are definately positives.
Now, what I consider to be drawbacks (minor and major)
1. Stock battery is 1.2v 70 mAh -- Ugh!
2. Unlike the Bit Char-G, it has caps on the underside of the PCB similiar to the ZZ so you can't put a second battery there.
3. Short range (10ft) by default.
I haven't noticed any crippling components on the PCB yet, nor have I opened up the controller yet.
In closing, I think for $6.95 + shipping this is a good deal. Is it as good as the ZZ? Take away ZZ's wide part support and it MIGHT be close. It sure has ZZ's controller beat. So interchange them. =) However, the original Bit Char-G is STILL way better.
If you want pics, let me know what type and I'll do my best to get them for you!
