The plasma dash motor will require FET upgrades. I had a triple stack of FETs on a gen 1 with lipo and the plasma dash. Lets just say that everything gets hot with that motor.

If 4 cells didn't fry the FETs, you might be lucky. I wasn't sure what voltage that motor could run at. I would highly advise not running more cells without a FET stack.
You can search for FET up grades on either this site or google to find out information about them and installation. It requires good soldering skills, many people have wrecked boards trying to do this mod without adequate soldering skills.
The FETs are basically the transistors that control the current to the motor. If you draw too much current, the FET essentially dies.

I'm sorry, I have no idea... You can always test the two to find out. If you have an amp meter that can handle more than 5 amps (This is probably really conservative), you could put like 2.4 V on the motor with it stalled and see how much it draws. The more powerful magnets will draw more current.

No they won't. If its stalled, the magnets have no effect on the current. Just the length and radius of the wire will. I'd rather skip the formulas. I need the symbol font here.

no need for the formulas. It was during finals week before graduation, so I'm not sure what I was thinking.

I strongly recommend winding your own com. It only takes a little practice and the cool factor rocks.
