Plen...The 9" skating robot!!!
Just now available for sale for ~$2,200 in Japan. The Plen is a 9" Robot and it can roller skate AND skateboard!!! Watch these videos...

Plen the Skateboarding robot is up for grabs in Japan. With a height of approximately 23 cms or 0.75 feet Plen is powered by a 32 bit ARM7 CPU at 33MHz and has 18 movable joints. It connects to the PC via USB and can also be controlled by a cell phone via Bluetooth. It comes with a Lithium Ion battery pack, charger, USB cable and Roller Skates. Plen's battery provides 25 minutes of walking time.
I am SOOOOooooo praying that robots like this are going to eventually make their way here to the US!!

These things are really getting lifelike. This looks like a scaled down version of the Sony DreamRobot, which never made it to market. They're definately coming, but to the US, I dunno. Great find there green guy.
