AWD problem
hey ppl. i have a skyline that only has the AWD kit added to it. when i drive it, the car stalls a lot. when you try to move backwards or forwards, you can hear a slight hum telling you that its trying to move but it cant. i thought it was dirt on the gears or the tires catchin on the body or maybe even the gears not meshing properly.
i removed the body and checked all the yellow bearing things. (sorry, i dont know the tehcnical terms for all these parts). they are all clean. the gears are all clean too. i even added extra lube. a weird sound from the back gears can be heard. it sounds like the gears grinding or something. or my skyline is messed up again. (this is my second one).
so i got it all ready for exchange again. i tested it out before i exchanged it, now its fine!!!
you guys got any idea why the AWD acts like this? i still dont know what could be causing this. my best guess is the back gears getting suck on each other. could it be a bad AWD kit? maybe if i get the stage 2 motors that may fix it?
thanks.

ok, i figured it out. its the red gear (the big one) that comes with the AWD kit thats causing the problem. instead of using it like i should, i am now using the white stock one. but now that ive done this, is it really AWD? the front wheels still spin, but just slightly touching them will stop them from spinning. sorry for sounding like this, but im very new to all this. thanks.

It sounds like you did not have the red drive gear seated all the way onto the d-cut on the driveshaft. This could cause the driveshaft to bind "stalling" the car. Check that you are using the correct length shaft and that the drive gears on each end are fully seated onto the d-cut. You should be able to use the correct red gears, s2 or not.

i finally fixed it!!!!!!!!! it was one of the yellow nylon bearings right beside the red gear. after trying to figure it out for a while, it looked like the gears were too close. so i removed the bearing and i guess it gave it that extra space it needed to spin. so far it works fine.
