The Blackbird

Ok, so here's the start of Project Blackbird. When I get done, the body will be black and the rims will be dark grey.
Here's what it has hardware wise:
11 tooth (blue) stage 2 motor
metal bearing
4wd
aluminum differential connectors-front & back
light kit
body kit

Forgot to mention that I shaved the mirrors. I broke both playing demo derby with some friends and decided not to replace them.

Progress

Here's a pic before painting. Hate to have to post them one at a time, but I don't have them grouped as one big collage. If any of you are curious to see more pics, click the link below to see the online gallery.

The chassis on paint stand. I followed a tip I saw on here and used the mounting stand out of a starter kit case.

Not sure if you thought of this but I would have masked off the Windows before primer, unless you plan to do a high number of coats. but thats just my non professional opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.

Then windows were a bit scuffed (I had been playing demo derby with this thing), and besides i was just going to paint the whole thing black with a few coats a gloss coat.

Update

I know it's been awhile since the last posting, I just haven't gotten around to painting until now. All of the paint is done and now just putting on clear coat. Hopefully by the end of the weekend the Blackbird Vette will be done.
