moding the servo
im starting my new xmod project.i was woundering if any body took there servo apart.Befor ripping mine apart i just want to know if there are bushings that i could put bearings in stead and put a better motor in it like from a zip zap
|

The servo motor is 6mm x 11 mm, so I'm not sure what mods you could do. I imagine finding a way to reduce the # or looseness of the gears inside (there are about 5 different gears in there), you might be able to reduce some of the play, but I'm not sure exactly how.

There aren't any bearings inside or places you can put bearings. The most you can do by taking it apart is to eliminate the servo saver. That's where the gears move back and forth, not spinning, but sliding so that it can save the servo gears in the event of a hard crash. You eliminate this by putting washers from a sacrificed motor. There is a write up somewhere, I'll try to find it and link it.
