Just did the Tri cell mod but the run time sucks

Ok, i just did the tri cell mod and its great for the 1st 20-30 seconds and then the power really drops. I tried to double charge it but the charger wont let me do it. The light just stays green,, ill even turn it off and let it sit for a few minutes and it just wont charge the truck unless its been drained a bit. Would it be better for run time if i wired it paralell instead of in cerial?

could it just be that the battery cant hold a charge? its not from a real zip zap, its from a clone.

also, what if i were to mod it to use two recharegable AAA batteries, would that fry the truck?

Thanks

Ok, i just replaced all 4 AAA batteries in the remote, charged the truck and it worked a little better but im still only getting 30-40 seconds maybe a full minute( i guess that isnt too bad) of good power and then it just dies and slows way down.

It certainly has more power, i can pop a wheelie from rest when its fully charged

The gears tend to grind a bit when i hit reverse real quick though, i dont want to damage anything.

What about retrofitting two rechargeable AAA batteries on the monster? would that work?

the explorer sport trac body is a die cast one(like hotwheel) i purchased it in a set of two(one sport trac and an older blue truck) last time i checked they still have them at wallmart for under a dollar. You have to grind down the inside of the diecast trucka bit and modify the chassis of the monster to make it fit.. its a little heavy but you really cant tell,, i really cant now that ive done the tri cell

good luck

Now it can do wheelies from a stop with either the green or the yellow gears lots of power, i love it
