TRC ALLOY INSTALLATION GUIDE
Package Contents:
- 4 wheels
- 2 front rims
- 2 rear rims
- 4 rim screens
- 1 rear axle
- 2 pins
- 1 gear
- 2 steering knuckles
Caution!
Depending on the rim model and bit body type, you may or may not have to dremel or sand your body’s front wheel wells to accommodate the larger diameter wheels. The “rim job” has to be very precise. If you screw the job up, it’s your fault sucka and not ours.
Rim Assembly:
Two front wheels -
Press the pins through the rims and into the steering knuckles – the pin will have to be cut later.
DO NOT DRILL OUT THE RIMS!
Careful! The wheel rims have to turn freely but not with too much play. Trim the remaining pin (sticking out on the other side of the knuckle) with a pair of pliers. Fix the5mm rim’s pin (to the steering knuckle) with instant glue.
Two rear wheels (One with spacer) -
The rear rims will be installed last. First press the gear onto the axle. Fit the rim with the spacer on the side of the axle without the gear. Space the rim with the spacer 22mm from the gear. Fit the rim without the spacer to the side of the axle with the gear. Mark the length of the leftover axle (sticking out of the rims), remove the rims (not the gear, you don’t want to grind away the plastic – do it right the first time!) and cut the marked end of the axle! Fix the rims back on the axle with instant glue. The rim should be glued directly onto the gear.
Paint the rim’s wells (where the rim screens will be attached):
In order to increase the contrast between the rims and the rim screens, paint the rim’s wells to darken them (a permanent marker is also sufficient).
Attach the rim screens:
Use a sharp knife to cut out the screens from the web.
Fix the wheels onto the rims.
Front wheel assembly:
Take off the body and remove the pcb cover. Turn the steering cover screw by two revolutions to remove the existing front wheels. Lift each side of the steering cover to remove each of the steering knuckles. Replace them with the assembled front wheels and screw it back on.
Milling out your bit body’s front wheel wells (for the 6mm wide rims):
Sandpaper out the front wells until it fits the diameter of a standard bit battery.
