Question Newbie with alot of Questions

Sup guys and ladies (if there are any here) I have a couple of 1/10 scale cars but I been watching the 1/28 scale cars lately.I did alot of research on the net and at the LHS race track.I bought the red Supra Xmods. So far I learned alot from this board.

I want to know:
In the hobby class 1/10 scale cars the lower the motor turn= more speed and the higher the pinion teeth= more speed is that the same for the XMODS

What size are the wheel nuts and wheel shims? I saw someone say you can buy them from a hardware store cheaper.

Where's the best website to buy bearings, fets, and the the battery upgrades?

I seen fets with different numbers what does that mean.

I'm used to speed.My on-road car is doing mid-high 20's and my off-road truck is doing mid-high 30's.

Whats the biggest or fastest motor I can put in my Xmods without modding the motor area.I saw a lot of mini and micro motors on Tower Hobby,my LHS,& Ebay.I saw people saying good things about the 130 and 180 then in the same post I saw people saying bad things about the 130 and 180.Or should i go with a name brand motor like the T.O. stock?

I read the post "On how not to get ripped off" and I'm glad I did I was about to buy a few things from those sites.

Any help you guys can give me will be appreciated.

For speed, NML hand-wound motors work awsome.
Though it needs some stacked FETs or an external.
Externals take the place of a FET and are easier to install.
A good external is the "Woah Nelly" which is made by ph2t.
Prices rance from $25-$40 and require original FETs to be removed and the external soldered in.

The thing about the motors and pinion is right.
And for these cars, anything under 45 turns is a modified motor.

6 Celling is treally easy too, just do a simple search.

Rodrick -

I am from the Houston area as well.
I have been to MM Hobby, too. Kind of expensive, though...

A good place to buy parts and learn about XMODS is AtomicMods.com. If fact, Rob (owner) is from Baytown...

Anyway, lots of good parts, motors, Li-Ion batteries, etc. Also, lots of how-to segments. There is a big FAQ section on his website, too. You can email and normally he will answer you within minutes during regular business hours.

They sell good motors--the 130SS and the Hi-Torque 180S are bad-ass motors. I have one of each on two different Li-Ion cars. The Li-Ions make the XMODS blaze...you should try them out.

Check out the site. It is informative, and the service is top-notch.

Later, and good luck...
