Ford GT review!
This is only my second SE and it rocks!
Body: 8.5/10
The body is super detailed. It is awesome because there is no slots on the outside of the body. It is also pretty light. Speaking of lights, the lights in here are awesome! The windows are a seperate piece that is tinted. There does seem to be a slight problem with the body hitting the antenna if it is up while charging. Probably because the body is nice and long. It also sits a little bit too high.
Chassis: 9.5/10
My chassis is dated 07A04. It is perfect with no wierd deformations. There is also no wierd flexing issues as there were with the old one. The black coating seems to be better applied. The motor has a wierd endbell with metal covering the entire end. It is also a flat piece of metal instead of that wierd lumped one that they had before. The gears mesh well and everything works. It is a bit heavy but seems better than the old SEs
Steering: 9.99/10
This is how propo steering should be. It works perfectly smooth and even steps. I really like how this is setup. It even causes the car to flip at slow speeds on high traction areas. I love it! I did have to slightly adjust the trim on the controller to get 7/7 propo. I also had to slightly realign the trim on the car because it didn't go exactly straight.
Speed: 10/10
For you speed freaks this car is finally right for you! It flies! I can easily beat my old SE which has the NX motor and green gears. My GT is stock and flips like crazy due to speed and driving on a high traction surface. I think we are up to the par of the old ZipZaps. These cars are so much better now it is unbelieveable! Even at these high speeds it consistently gets much higher runtimes into the double digits occaisonally!
Overall: 9.8/10
It is a really good buy as long as you get a good one. They are insanely better than the old SEs. They perform good look okay and seem well built. I love it!
FYI: I do not work for Radio Shack but I might soon! They have jobs open!
I hope you guys get a good one and have fun!

thank you racer
i appreceiate this review i have just grabbed an 06a04 here in canada, and noticed tremendous improvements in the cars propo steering. mine sounds quiet back and forth compared to a older se's. now its not a GT but i know that upon the next arrivals here i wont be disapointed or hesitant to buy one (even though i would have to have one for the body alone) . of the new cars the Gt is a head turner for sure. Racer do you notice it being quieter?would also know like whats up speedking, hows yours?

Yep there is. I just put in a NX motor with the blue gears and it rips! It accelerates almost as well as with the stock motor. The braking effect is also more real as it slows not as quick. I might switch to the green gears later. I don't need to though.

I recently purchased a Ford GT and so far I am very pleased with it. This is my fourth Zip Zap SE and they seem to improve the quality with each new body series release. I do have a few concerns however with some of my older cars that are now out of warranty. On one the front wheels are locked to one side so the car no longer steers. On the second one the car now runs extremely slow even though there is nothing stuck in the wheels. I am assuming that the battery in the car may have died prematurely. These quality issues made me give up on Zip Zaps temporarily. The Ford GT was an impulse buy because it caught my eye when purchasing Xmods parts. I hope that this new Zip Zap can continue to perform as flawlessly as it is now. I too am amazed at the speed these cars now have with the standard motor and gearing.

I love the speed. My car seems to have developed a jitter, but only sometimes. Sometimes it works perfectly but others not. it is only annoying that it is there. It perfroms great even with the slight annoyance.

It should. It seems like changes happen every once in a while and stay at about that until they update them again.
I think. Ask some of the other people with more SEs for a more solid answer

Just FYI. The new GT and presumably the other 08A04 cars run a max 50% duty cycle on the motor, as compaired to 30% on the old models. So you should definately be seeing an improvement in power.
On the other hand, thats still only half what it could be doing. Not that I'd know what to do with more power, I can't do much with a King 4.2 but spin around doing doughnuts.

Here is a short video I took. It is really dark even though the lights were on full. lol. I should probably have taken it in the bright sunlight upstairs, but oh well. This isn't at full throttle all the time. The bad driving is my brother. (I am not lying!)
The video
EDIT: This is using stock gearing and an NX motor. I might make a completely stock video later.

The 2nd video
Same setup as above just better lighting.
I am having fun with the new Digi-Cam!
