SEs for $15 !!!

Stopped by my local RS this morning to see if they got the Corvette shells in yet, then I noticed a whole bunch of ZipZaps items are on clearance!

The following ZipZaps SE were on clearance for $14.99:
- Silver Mustang
- Blue GTO
- Starsky & Hutch

There's probably more on clearance, so it's worth taking a look. If ever there was a great opportunity to pick up an SE, this is it!

That sounds excellent! - Crap, just called my local RS, and they said that the sale at that specific store won't be until next Friday <aarrggh>.

Whomever you spoke with must be wrong.

Call there again and have them do an ACTUAL check in the system (like tell them to pull up the price of one of the SEs).

I believe the sale actually covers ALL SE kits.!!

At my RS, all ZZ's are on sale...with the exception of the F150's. That's weird. Anyway, every zz item is also on sale. 2F2F body kit's for 3.97...cases and tools for 4.97...rally kits .97 and lap counters 2.00

Later,
Chrome...

Yep yep, after drilling my local RS store manager, she finally said that the clearance sale was currently active (DOH!). As Chrome posted, almost *everything* is on clearance sale. Most of the non-SEs are $10, the wide wheel kit is $2, the pit carrying case is $5, the cone and barrel kit is $1, etc... etc... -

Hehe, my thoughts exactly! Damn you, RS ROTFL!!!

Point and case: I had already went up to my local RS store and picked up a few Zaps items. Feel asleep on the couch, woke up at 8:47PM EDT and thought, "Man, I gotta pick me up another lap counter!".

Been rather rainy down here in South Florida the past few days, but since it cleared up a bit, I decided to ride the MoPed up to the RS (vs driving the car). Got 1/4 of the way there and it started pouring.

Dillema follows: Do I ride back home and pick up the car (chancing RS closing before I got there)? Continue on hoping that the rain will let up? LIKE A SANE PERSON, simply wait until tommorow???

Hell no, not me, dumb arse! Kept on riding till I got to the store to make my $2.95 purchase ROTFLOL!!! -

P.S. My local RS store manager said that they are trying to clear out all of the old models to make room for the new models, hence this massive clearance sale.

Dunno the reliability of my local RS store manager (wish that I had a dime for each time she gave me misinformation, I'd be a rich man LOL!), but according to her there is a new ZipZap series/version that will hit the shelves early next year. Price is supposed to vary between $35 to $50 bucks. Hmmmmm.....

Dunno about the reliability of the source 'tho (?).

Strange, my RS store manager told me the same thing. When I asked what, he said they said there would be a "New Line." That's all he new. New line as in new cars or SE2?

Later,
Chrome...

*Edit*
I know my info is good. Mike has never led me wrong. He was the one that told me about the 10A03 code...he new they were bad. I wonder what RS has up thier sleve now? I think the Gen2 Se's are perfect. I just wish the bodies set even a little lower.

Which Zaps models were the affected ones? I have to dig up my "box of boxes" LOL, but I think that my Savanna was of that date code.

The weird thing is (with my Savanna, first ones to hit the shelf when I bought it), I never had any problems with it (or the two that I bought for a friend of mine and my nephew). All of them were from the same first batch that RS stocked, gotta check the date codes 'tho.

(Edit) Just checked the date codes on the Savanna packaging, and it is 07A03. I know a lot of folks had problems with the Savannas. Maybe I'm just easily amused LOL (as I never had any problems with this one or the other two), but if there were big improvements of the new GTO that I just bought over the original Savannas, I can't wait to throw it together and give it a whirl (haven't assembled it yet) -

I'm thinking something along the lines of an SE2 type of thing. If the info that my local RS store manager gave me is correct, they'll be ranging from 35-50 bucks, so's it sounds to me something like an SE2 of sorts.

Matter 'o' fact, she said that's the only info that they told her during one of their head-honcho mettings, that they would range from 35-50 bucks.

HHMMMMM, perhaps a much improved SE? I'm beginning to wonder if the guy I was talking to was referring to something like that and not just proper working current models. Oh what a tangled web RS weaves. If true, of course I'll have to get them. And try to replace some of my crappy older models too. I think they know where we live.
Edit: Heres a direct quote from the guys email. "

We are in the process of updating the entire ZipZaps line with new models being introduced in August.
