mosfets

hey, i havnt been in the electric rc world for long...ive raced the gas ones, but im always seeing mosfets being sold, and fets being put on and stuff...im wondering wat are they and do they really make ur car faster? how much do they go for and where can i get one?...can someone gimme the basics plz?

all the fets let you do is let you run bigger/faster motors. there's a thread in the science forum. should tell you everythin.
