brushless motor

I just splurged and bought me a brushless motor and esc with it. It runs a Losi Mini-T around 40 mph on 2 Li-Poly batteries. I am concerned about just destroying my entire drivetrain if I put it in my modded X-mod. It will take 4 polys without melting.

As long as you can install the brushless ESc without a problem, I'd see no problem. You wanna sell that T?

The motor doesn't fit the Xmod without a serious motor mount.

I'll put it in the T.
Both are very serious cars right now. The Xmod has the atomicmods LiPolys with the 130 motor, carbon fibre chassis, aluminum rear deck, and all the regular mods.

I'll discribe the T when it is finished, hopefully in the T section. The body is the H2o done in holigraghic SpazStix paint. 1st time and a perfect finish. This paint can't be used on the Xmods. Too bad. It would be excellent.

It has no brushes to send electricity, but instead does it some other way. By having no brushes, friction is cut down by a ton, making it not only more efficent, but also making it faster.

They have brushes. If they didn't, they'd be more expensive and way faster.

Bishop power products is a big maker, with a wide array of kits for Mini-Ts. I hear that with a 6 cell and brushless, Ts have been clocked at over 40.

Yeah, you'd have to mod the original yellow mount, and there's no guarntee that it will fit. On the other hand though, you have to ditch all the crappy electronics in the xmod for a new ESC, servo, and reciever, which is a positive. With a set of li-ions and a brushless, it'll set you back less than putting in a V1 and 4 li-ions, not to mention it being lighter. You can get a whole ESC/motor package for around 118 if you look around, and then you need a 4 wire servo and a reciever, plus a controller. You can have a hobby shop do it for you too. Oh, and you NEED bearings. I know that with a brushless in a T that the stock bushings will literally melt. I forgot one thing: in Mini-Ts, the plastic gears seem to shred with a brushless, so that's an idea as to what will happen with an xmod.
