Jada Upgrade Help!
I am a xmod racer, and my xmod stoped working. So i bought one of these jada rc cars. I want to know if this rc is customizable? I am a beginner at Jada, so please answer the questions.
Note: Can any one tell me if i could use any of these things on my Jada
Notice: The Vehicle i have is a 1:10th Scale Red Toyota Supra (49MHZ)
Questions: Can i connect (2) 9.6v battery packs to my 1:10 Jada without destroying anything?. Do you know any Motors that will make jada faster then stock? Do you know any magnets or fets i could put inside of the jada motors that could make it accelerate better? Anyway i could raise the rc frame off the ground more? ( it is always poping up when it taps something)
Projects: tell me if this was correct, i runned the motor non stop for 15 minutes, would this have rose any rpm's in the motor? I rearanged the antena wire off the RC body, and put it on the frame. It caused it to lose some range, any answers how to fix the range? ( it was about 50-60 feet of range, now it is down to 40-30 feet or maybe below that).
I am sorry if i am asking so many Questions, its because i am going to have a race with it this Saturday. ( need it as fast as possible, without messing anything up.)

I've never even seen one of these. 2 9.6 volt batts will blow that thing sky high (well, actually, it would just fry).

umm. that uses 280 size motors... not 540. if it did, then it would go a LOT faster and it would kill ur battery quicker. i have the blue supra and i love it. but its kinda slow.

If it uses 280s, upgrade to a 45 turn MRS4 motor, available at your local LHS.

If you have to pry apart the whole rear piece then it isn't too bad.

For a quick and easy way to shrink images, use mspaint (or equivalent) open up your image, and then go to image >> stretch/skew and then there should be options to stretch the image vertically, and horizontally. Now all you have to do is enter an integer less then 100. Make sure this is the same for both horizontal and vertical, otherwise you will get a distorted image. This is how I shrink images.

Is there any way you could rewire the battery setup to run at like say 12V or something. Wouldnt that help the performance?
Or even just change the drive gear or something.
I have no clue how these things look from the inside, so i have no clue what i am talking about, but just a thought...

The problem is that, like xmods, the board might not be able to handle that kind of voltage.

Well, i bought one of these now and i decided it just took off too slowly and killed the batteries a lil too fast for how slow it is.
So a friend of mine told me "get Ni-HMs and that should help".
Funny thing about Ni-HM AA batteries is that they are 1.2V instead of 1.5V. So when i put the Ni-HMs in it was stuck at 7.2V....this made for EVEN slower take off.
So i played with it a lil bit....
I am running 9 AA Ni-HMs on it and so far it seems to be holding out pretty good. It takes off considerably faster already as it is. This is only 1.2V more than it is normally, but it seems to make a world of difference.
I thought maybe it was just me thinking it was going faster just because i set it up this way myself and wanted to think it would help..hehe...so i put mine beside my friend's car and raced him. Mine was quite a bit faster than his.
Now i think i will tear out some of those features i am not using on it (lights, cool looking system setup with NOS bottle in the hatch).
Also, did anyone else experience POOR range with this thing? I noticed the antenna was glued to the inside of the body....not much help for range problems.
So i am gonna drill a hole in the body and stick the antenna through a straw to hold it up a lil higher. Maybe this will help my range.
Now i just have one more complaint about this car. When going slow, the steering really isnt all that great. I taped up the wheels to slip a lil more and kick the back end out to steer a lil better, but that is just useless when it comes to driving slowly. Gonna see if there is a way to give it better steering radius.
Anyone got any ideas?

Actually, Mi-mhs make you take off faster, because they can supply more current instantly than alkys, and you get more even running per charge, AND they are lighter.

Frequency change...
Is there any way that anyone knows that you could change the frequency on these cars?
Is it only possibly to change the frequency between the 27MHz or 49MHz that they come in?
I know the Xmods cars had the option to buy crystals to change the frequency as you go pretty much. Would it be possible to just solder in a new crystal on these cars as well? If so, where would this be located?
