basically ive looked at some drift cars and all they are is a 4wd chassis with pvc tyre so i fiqure lets try in a 1:24 instrad of a 1:10 .. works a treat if you have AWD i used bottle caps (the plastic type) but now im going to get some PVC end caps and try them.... if you dont know wat im talking about look up 1:10 drift cars and watch some video of them

Yokomo drift cars are liek any other 1/10 sedan with PVC tires...
hell even a TC3 can do what it does...
(w/ PVC tires)
Mini X's are good drifters also...

Drifting is fun, but drag racing is more important.

I can drift with stock tires anyway, so why do I need to buy tires for it?

Do you have any idea about driving?! Dragging is tough! Let's see, what's your reaction time? What's your 60 foot time? Drag racing seems to have this myth around it that it is easy. It is not. You might be able to floor it off the line in a Civic, but hop into a Mustang, and you'll just light the tires. Do you leave the line when the light turns green? If so, I'd bet you'd lose a lot. What happens when your car does a wheelie? You gonna stay on it? How about shifting? You think that you canshift at just the right point to keep the motor in its powerband? What about what RPM you launch at? Don't talk about stuff you don't know about.

yes i do know a thing or two about driving...i dont have a clue what my reaction time is..(never tried at the track)
with the drifting/drag thing, think about it like this.. if you take a little civic and set it next to a modified one at the strip with both guys at roughly the same skill level. hmm... does reaction time really play apart in this? i never said drag racing was easy... but if you think about it very much of the outcome depends on the car too. take drifting on the other hand... doesnt really matter what youre driving.. (in relation to speed and tuning... heck even some ff drifters can take out most of the rwd guys..) just that you know how to drive it at its limits. stick someone with pretty basic drift skill in a tuned 240 against someone more hardcore in a more stock version... drifting or even any type of curcuit track racing requires more skill then dragging. adding on top of the shifting and staying in your powerband and such you gotta also put the turns into play and braking points and rev matching and weight transfer and try to keep the best line possible. this is what i was trying to say with the skill level:

drift: 90% skill 10% car
drag: not really sure but i still say its mostly car

i know they may not represent the whole drag racing crowd but most guys i know who drag spend much more time talking about modifications to help make their cars faster and such...(most are jerks) christian rado of scc is an ass! talking crap about drifters and saying he can do it and the light thing.. everyone does it... (damn street racers lol)

my fault for starting this discussion i respect your stand on drag racing but i dont know why youre getting so agressive against me...

i just want to know what you meant by dragging is more important???
