question about rear deck

you know that little rasied peice that the antenna is mounted on? well what if that was just flush with the deck? like just screwed into the deck... not raised. would it be okay? any problems with doing this? there is a reason i am asking. thanks...

as long as that yellow piece aroudn the motor stays there, to keep antenna from touching motor.. it would b ok I guess... it will short out if the antenna motor ever touch, even if car is off...

would be just as bad if it hit that battery terminal next to it too, and that looks easy to do... maybe insolate it with liquid elect tape ?
