The thing that I find bothersome is the graphite rear pod. Graphite is used usually to make "stiffer". But the drr rear pod has the t-bar integrated. 1/10th t-bars are fiberglass purposely to allow flexing.
I don't know, I guess you could switch back and forth between them to allow more dialing in. THe graphite (stiffer) for more high speed, with large gradual turns, and a very flat surface. The Fiberglass (more flex) for more bumbier areas.
In fact I can see the graphite "hopping" more in high speed corners because it is stiffer. The thing I keep thinking of is it will break much easier as its not designed to be flexing like this.

That depends on the voltage/gearing/motor. Out of the box though what would you guys say with the dinky 4 cell? 14?

If you mean 14mph, I'd say that sounds a little fast to me.
Regardless, it's faster than the xmod out of the box -- the drive system is more direct, and the brass bushings are smoother than the plastic with the xmod. The DRR is inexpensive, but it's really a well designed, hobby grade pan car. The electronics that are included aren't great, but perfectly capable of handling 6 cells and a 180 class stock motor, without any space limitations in the chassis. Replace the included electronics with better stuff, and the sky is the limit, if speed is what you're after.
If you're looking to get in on all the modding fun that's going on in the xmods forum, or looking to race with your friends xmods, I'd say get an xmod. If you're looking for something more track oriented, I'd go with a DRR. It's all about what you want to do.
