super fast

I just made a motor that is 30 turns and when I put it on a 6 volt NI-Cd battery that came from a remote controlled car and it sounded like my stage 2 blue on a nine volt. It was so fast that my endbell turned bright blue and smoke started comming from it, when i touched the motor can it was HOT!!! So i drilled holes in the can and ran it again it was a little cooler. Do you think carbon brushes will stop most of the sparks because the brushes are the spinbrush kind and they are starting to wear out because i melted part of the one side of them. And one more thing do you think i need FET's for my car to run it cuz it is pretty fast?

I would suggest carbon brushes and a BB can. 6V might even be too much juice, hence the fireworks. try hooking up whatever batteries you'll actually be using , and see how the motor runs then. Don't hook it up to the XMOD boars it will more than likely fry...

ok thanks you guys for all the help because the motor is fast and it is tempting to put it in my car. I just can't wait till i get those FET's so I can run it.

The limit of windings on thew stock FETs in 45 turns. 30-turns will definitely fry them.

6V will be fine but you MUST have carbon brushes. Copper brushes are for 3V only.

I just want to know what TSpecX was talking about, and in reference to whom or what?
