Pro electronics questions.

Ok for those guys that are doing the upgraded electronics rout I have some questions.

Where do you all buy the stuff?

how much does it all cost usually?

Can I get a list of your setups with prices?

So the parts needed to do the job are

1. Ecs
2. Reciever
3. Servo
4.transmitter

Im assuming thats all? Of coarse ill be putting this stuff in a pro carbon chassis to make things easier on myself.

Thanks alot

I picked up everything I needed at Tower. Novak XXL receiver ($57), Novak SPY ESC ($60) and Hitek HS55 servo ($18). For the transmitter, I'm using the one that came with my Mini-Z.

I don't have it all setup yet, I just connected up the electronics to a set of batteries to make sure everything was working. I've only just started to assemble the chassis. Suspension and drivetrain is all assembled onto the main chassis, but the upper plate is going to need some trimming in order to fit my 180 motor.

you can still use AWD if you're doing this right?

Yes, AWD can still be used.

I also should make a clarification. The 180 motor does fit without modification. It doesn't leave much room for the ESC and receiver, though.

I have the whole thing assembled now, minus the electronics. But now I'm trying to decide whether to go this route or just bag the whole XMods thing and get an XRay M18.

Yep, that's the decision I made. There just isn't quite enough room in the Xmod to do the proper upgrades to make the car like I want it.
The Xmod is great for the money, but I'm getting tired of tweaking it and it's becoming expensive. Defeats the purpose I bought it.

The M18 I believe is perfect. Mine will be here soon, then I'll get the Mamba set. I hear speeds of 30 mph with this set up. Plenty fast enough for a car that size IMO.
