New PCB Servo help needed
I finally got enough time (of all days, on my birthday ) to install my new PCB because I burned the old one... I soldered in the batts and the servo correctly, but when I tested it, the servo only turned in one direction and while in neutral and attempting to turn the other way, it seemed like it was struggling and couldn't move at all (it made that light buzzing sound, you know, like when you restrict your wheels from turning but turn the steering wheel anyway). I'm guessing this is only because of different factory settings for the PCB and controller, but how do I adjust these? If I adjust the trim on the controller, it'll reset after I turn it off, and I can't turn the little gears inside the servo past a certain point... I'm at a loss here, I haven't driven my xmod in a few months! please, help would be appreciated.

you need to replace the 3 wires going to the potentiometer. i used 24 gauge solid wire. if you sand the ends and then tin them they work a lot better. if they break its also alot easier and cleaner to replace than stranded wire. or you could have accidently crossed the 3 wires on the pcb of the potentiometer. also check the 3 wires going btw the 2 pcbs. one of mine was crossed, i just moved it over so that it wasnt touching anything.

if you are looking at the top of the board, with the battery cables and the fets closest to you it will be directly on the right of the big blue resistor there should be 3 holes if the board is brand new that is where you solder them too. ill look for the pic that BC gave me.

did you try to solder them all at once or individually? you cant solder them individually. just heat up all 3 terminals, and stick the wire through. if you have 3 separate wires that are in no way connected you can do them individually.

Finally, after a long ass time, I soldered them in, and it works I was so overjoyed that I overlooked the reinstallation and didn't rearrange the wires to the smaller pcb properly so it would all fit, and so I think I've damaged something!!! It doesn't work when the cover is on and it's all installed... I hope nothing is permanent...
Oh, and newbitowner, do you use flux? what kind of solder? it helps to stick the wires through the board first, fold them over so they don't fall out, THEN solder...
I can't wait till I have this civic up and running again, I JUST BOUGHT A LIGHT KIT AND AWD, I am so excited to use them...

you need to rearrange the wires between the 2 pcb boards. i have the same problem but havent had enough practice to fix them yet. you also may need to resolder the wires. if you need to strip one just replace all 3 wires. its nearly impossible to fix just one. IDK how long you've been soldering on stuff like this but ive been at it for almost 3 years now and i still cant fix those tiny freaking wires

I've had my rustler for four years, and I think I started soldering seriously after a year I got it... so, 3 years for me as well seems about right...I've been soldering in my room lately: NOT A GOOD IDEA, even with my fan pointing out my window at full speed, it seemed stuffy and uncomfortable, and I got a headache and I thought I got high... nope, just fatigue, but it's still a bad idea.

fatigue, so thats what you call it. i got too many fire hazards in my room to solder. i started in the dining room. very bad idea. then i moved myself down to the basement, but its not all that bad. thats where all of the fans are stored, and i can open 4 windows and 1 big door that goes out to the unheated garage. i cant do that at night anymore though, no one likes the sound of an airport. lol

Hey! I'm serious! I don't get off well with little sleep, and I was soldering well into the wee hours of the morning (1-2 am)
