yes, there WAS a conversion made my techracing i think circa 1995. this conversion not only replaces the gear box and the a-parts of the car, but also adds some belt setup as well. you can find all the parts except the front and rear gearbox replacement and ultimate hobbies still. whats cool is if you are able to get a hold of just the gear box replacement, that is belt driven as well and you can use a standard 64 pitch spur, and gear your car from there. rather than the stupid m chassis gearbox and gears.. grr.. good luck finding it though. damn, i want that piece..

oh yeah, if you want, you can just hook up another gear and get an esc that can handle two motors. then youll have a dual motot 4WD tamiya mini.. unforunately this changes the wheel base to the m-long. which you can then fit the porsche boxter, and VW beetle body. and the new mini cooper.

No, i don't have that much money to spare on a new esc that can have dual motors. But i do like the sound of the ultimate hobbies part. What should i search for on ultimate hobbies and what's their sites address?

You can still find them. But the problems are too much power. The lite chassy at times would break and twist from the power.
