Rear Anti-Sway Bar

geez i wish i had pics. well heres how it goes. you take a piece of plastic or metal or w/e you want and drill holes just the size enuff for a screw to fit through without rubbing on both sides. you mount it behind your rear suspension arms right behind the shocks so its connecting both arms. i used a plastic coffee straw as a prototype. LOL

how it works. when one arm is depressed.(outside wheel in a corner) it pushes the other arm out resulting in both tires keeping contact with the ground so you have more predictable handling and more traction. only problem is it doesnt let the suspension compress at the same time. example:drag launching

with a clutch lsd my car understeers like crazy because both tires grip the ground but when i punch the throttle the whole thing slides with all 4's making contact you can also adjust camber angle by the length of the "bar" i have mine a little shorter for a little bit of negative camber. and also it fixes that annoying uneven suspension problem when one arm travels more then the other. happy modding.

if you did that, you would have no suspension travel, making the suspension pointless. if you did that, you might as well take out the suspension, and make the rod so that it attaches to the yellow thing where the top of the suspension screws in to save weight. same effect, less weight. but a good idea with that is to put a spring in the cross bar, it will not make it a solid piece, and will provide a stiffer suspension

this is an awesome mod! if you want a color selection use a small zip-tie thats what i did it works great!!!

This really has no point, like FlySkyline said, it defeats the purpose of even having suspension.

that spring thing is a great idea. as for the rod ive only ben experimenting with it. yeah rc2nr it does prevent ur suspension from functioning properly but if you notice body roll in cornering the inside wheel tends to lift off the ground. with the rod, weight from the outside wheel pushes down the inside wheel helping the inside keep traction. also the rod doesnt take too much effort to make or remove so pretty much if you dont like it, toss it.

another fix for the inside wheel spin problem is to trim the rear body mounting tab. if you trim the plastic on both sides of the hole where the screw goes into the suspension will have more down travel. its not doing the same thing as yours but its still a fix. and trimming the tab gives you a little more ride height in the rear.

ive tried the trimming fix but i got pissed off cause i couldnt sand the sides even. lol. this way is less work. i like the stabilizer bar because it also allows you to adjust camber angle easily. i have to direct credit for the stabilizer bar idea to xxspeednplayaxx. he discovered it b4 me.

If this Mod added a soft spring it should work better. By having a solid piece it sort of locks the supension verticaly but not horizontaly. By cuting out the middle and adding a spring you regain what was lost.

update! fixed the limiting problem. im still not happy with this mod but making the holes a little < wider > fixes the limiting problem. havent posted in so long... anyways im in the process of trying to figure out how to make an actual sway bar.. dunno why i called this a sway bar hah.

i've been thinking of this for some time now....instead of making holes, make ovals. the only problem is your back where you started....but there's a solution...if there was some sort of way to rig more springd in it so it only traveled up and down it would work....doesn't help with the weight problem though....

Actually they help alot. I run these front and rear on my car it greatly improved handling and an added tuning option you just have to put a bend in the back one so it bends and make the front bend easily since i made ones for my car i can't stand running without them.

Why would anyone want to use the soft springs?? They couldn't support my microsizer! Sounds like a great idea, but seeing as how the suspention is almost completely useless as it is...
