Zip Zap dbl charge?

dunno if this has been covered before, but i just noticed something today when fooling around my w/new zz (Porsche - stock, unmodded)...

1. place on charger
2. charge
3. run - runtime a couple minutes
4. place on charger
5. charge
6. remove from charger
7. wait a sec...
8. charge again
9. run - runtime about doubled!?!?!!!!

has anyone noticed that you can double-charge the zz for more runtime?

sorry if this is common knowledge...

I did the same thing today. Since yesterday, when I got my ZZs, I was just charging once, then running them. They ran for about two minutes before needing recharging.

Today, I charged two consecutive times without running the car, and now my run time has more than doubled to about four and a half minutes per charge...

Yup, I've been doing that from day 1, since I knew it worked well with the Bit Char-G. The 150 mAH rated one takes 3-4 charges.

Also, I wonder if you can use the QFM capacitor mod on a ZZ to give it double the charge automatically?

Shacky if I am understanding you correctly your bit batt can actually be charged 3 or 4 times at a time? How long is that runtime?

Eh, no. Not mine. I do charge 3 times sometimes, but I haven't timed how long it lasts. The 3-4 charges are for the 150 mAH battery found in the parts and mods on this site.

Oh I knew about that thought you meant the reguler batt's, my mistake. Personally I get around 4 min run time on one charge anyway.

I don't know if you tried this, but I noticed that I had to wait a few seconds, (sometimes up to 10-15 seconds), between the chargings. If I try it too soon, the LED stays green...

if you've messed around with the battery any the terminals have moved around and aren't making contact with your charging base anymore. look at the bottom of the car and the charging terminals should be filling the entire rear holes in the chassis. mine slid forward just a bit and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't charge till I looked at the bottom.

mine did the same thing. i had to remove the circuit board and push the terminal back into place but it still does that somewhat.
oh well my battery lasts at least 10 minutes even with the 21.5 motor.

So, should this work with a dual batter mod in series? My controller wont even turn RED if I attach a dual modded car. I dont think its even passing current unless the light is red. Dont know for sure. I will check.

The controller has a voltage regulator of sorts that prevents you from charging past 1.5volts, even with a three cell radio, so charging a dual cell car that requires 3volts just won't happen. There is a mod out there to bypass the regulator, but then you have to guess at how long to charge for.
