Tires,tires, and tires
lets talk tires shall we, on my drr im running the stock foam tires from ABC hobby for the SP, im not getting much traction, mabe because i put a 280 with a 3cell lipoly in it but what can i do to get more traction? does rounding off the tires edge give you more traction? is there a different compound to use? i glue my tires onto my rims with ca (super) glue, are there better ways of mounting them? if anyone could shed some light here it would be helpful to everyone

There are some different compounds. Horizon Hobby has them. Here's a link: http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/serv...nufacturer=ABC
What surface are you running on? If you can't get enough tractions from the tires, you may want to change or prep the surface you run on.

I not sure about the colored tires. I think those are Tamiya tires (for the mini 4wd). I've never used them so I can't say how they perform.

I've recently noticed that the Xmod rubber tires will fit on DTM X4, SP, and DRR cars. BUT, you'll need to do some modification because the Xmod tires have a small "rib" that runs the entire interior circumference of the tire. That "rib" will have to be carefully removed. Also, Xmod tires are not as wide as the DTM X4, SP, or DRR tires.
I don't know about the Xmod foam tires though. Anybody try those yet?

I have been waiting for someone to try the xmod foams for a long time. I just ran out of patience and I'm going to get them the next time I go to RS.

You only use CA for rubber tires. With foam, you have a good chance of ruining the surface and consistency of the tires softness. Invest in some black dot foam tire mounting compound, But at this scale, some good rubber cement would work.
Either way you brush the rim and inside of the tire separately. Let them dry. Then dip the rim in some thinner, then the foam should go right on over. Let it sit for 10 minutes or so, and your ready to run!
Any other rubber tires with traction other than the xmods? I want a tire that is the full width. What about mini z?
