Don't be worried on tires, be worried about the electronics...

I remember two years ago my robotics team used something called "file cards" on the robot to make it grip the carpet. I am pretty sure that the real use of these "file cards" is to clean a thingy (i forget wtf its called. it's like sandpaper for metal) anyways, if you can get a hold of some file cards then i would guess that you could just cut them to size and then double sticky tape them around the tire (or wheel, i guess, but the ridge might cause a problem. If you have foam tire upgrade then maybe try it on that wheel) then just kinda snip the spikes on the file cards so they are short enough to fit under the body and not hit the chassis (front wheels) or the batteries (back wheels) These would, in theory, be mini snow tires.
If you don't have or don't have access to file cards, then something that might work (this is in theory, just like the above) would be taking a flash card or some other type of fairly rigid peice of paper and poking a bunch of pins through it (the kind with the small and flat head) This would make like a mock file card. Then just do the same as above for trimming and installing.
Also, if ur gonna run your xmod in the snow, I guarantee you're gonna get snow in your xmod. I've done this before when there was like 1/8th of an inch of snow on my driveway and when I came in there was so much snow on it that I used a blow dryer to get it all off. You might want to make up a way to try to stop this.

maybe you can make the tires sticky by rolling them in coke and letting it dry before use...just an idea

hmm, you could put thumb tacts in the tires (spikes out) and trim the spikes to clear the chassis (lol this would be a mean thing to do on someones foot lol)

Good idea ireland, try the hardware store for a file card, I think he is refering to the thing that people use to clean out metal files. Don't use dry coke, it will be a mess and not help at all.

A low grit sandpaper might work, cut into strips, or razor blades from a shaving razor( be careful though ) wrapped around the tires.
