cooler SB hybrid motor
How can i cool down the SB motor with out the metal heatsink? After a few minutes it is too hot to touch. i have 6 cells and there is no place for those metal fins sticking up.
btw, this thing flies. it is more controlable and maybe even faster than a mini-z with an x-speed. i can do 30ft drift all day long. thanks for your help
one more thing...never try to get the brass pinion off with a cutting torch, just a little piece of advice

arctic silver 5 cannot cool your motor alone. you have to put a small dab on the motor then put the heatsink over it. it's a heat transfer medium since metal to metal contact is not perfect, arctic silver and any other thermal compound is used to fill in these gaps to facilitate heat transfer. i don't think compusa sells teh good arctic silver stuff, just some typical thermal compound. people also found out that compusa's brand silver compound has no silver in it lol. the stuff at radio shack is plain thermal compound and should work fine. but again, you still need a metal heatsink in order to use this thermal compound.

I've seen a few people cut up computer RAM heatsinks to use on their motors with success.
You could always make a roofscoop or something as well.

yeah, you could cut the fins off if you can't fit your 6 cells in. not like there's much airflow inside the body to make the fins matter anyway
