Micro rs4 motor - 3gear question!
BigShot... i know you did the 3 gear mod for your rs4 motor... i have the same setup, 8t - 11t - 10t... but what i really want to know is the rule for the 3 gear setup. ex: the less teeth on the motor the more acc and less top speed. does the some rule applies for 3 gears? and how much the middle gear effects the speed or acc?

I didn't do that mod, MrBigShot did. The best thing to do is use the same size gears for the pinion and intermediate gear. Then the ratios stay the same as normal.

Sorry for the mistake NEUROKINETIK... So your saying that if we keep the middle gear and the drive train gear the same then the first gear doesn't matter? hm.....

No, I'm saying if you keep the two BRASS gears the same, then the ratio will be the same, as if the second brass gear wasn't even there. The only thing the second brass gear will do is reverse the direction of rotation.

I know that if you keep the brass gears the same then the ratio is the same depending on the drivetrain gear you use. But how do you calcu 3 different gear ratio... for example: 8t to, 11t to, blue gear for the drivetrain. I'm not very good at calculating gear ratio, but i do know that the less T on the motor the more acc. But does the rule stay the same for 3 gear?
Why I asked this question is because, before i did the 3 gear setup, i had only 2 gear for the rs4 motor. I took the white drivetrain gear and drill a hole in it. put a plastic tube in the hole and then fit it on the motor. then it was attached to the blue gear. when i race my bro with his SPB motor speical and 4-AAA ic-3 and 1-AA IC-3. he would kill me from the start, but after 7-9 ft. i would just blow right past him.. not just passing him, but it seems the car would just keepon speeding up. So then i did the 3 gear to match his acc. but the top speed was not the same. oh.... and the 3 gear mod is loud as hell.
