Yeah this is kind of a ultra easy mod, but it is the only one I thought up & did myself. I'm not usually good at ANY type of mod , so this one being a success , I am a bit overly proud of it.
Since i added the motorworks offroad-looking tires on my Wrangler (thanks goes to vtheo for his post on those tires on his wranger), I then realized the anemic-looking fake plastic spare tire on the wrangler's tailgate didnt quite look right. Also ...due to a slight manufacturing error when the spare tire was installed (the plastic molding on the back of the spare inside the wrangler partially covered the rear tab slot....was unable to mount the body on the chasis , so i had to remove some of the plastic molding as a result the spare tire would wobble & turn. Sorry got a bit off subject.
Also I hated that IF I wanted to change the stock jeep hubcaps, the spare tire hubcap wouldnt match, because it was permanent.
SO... the other day I decided to see if i could dremel/trim down the fake spare tire so that I could put a offroad looking motorworks tire on the spare.
After I removed the fake spare tire from the wrangler body I had a different thought... why not mount a spare wheel from an old zz car? That way i could put any tire & hubcap on the spare I wanted.
So that's what i did.....
I took an old wheel from a parted out zz, placed a extra jeep hubcap & extra motorworks offroad tire on it, took a tiny long screw , made a plastic nut for the screw (by starting a hole with a thick needle then forcibly screwed the screw into the plastic), then I put a piece of electrical tape on the back of the spare (to protect the jeep's body from the rubbing/screwing on the spare tire). Then mounted the new spare on the my wrangler.
The only downside is that you can still see the phillipshead screwhead in the center of the hubcap, BUT you can paint it black to hide it... OR... what I just recently did...use a tiny bit of electrical tape & put it over the screwhead. Hides it perfectly. NOTE: I did this AFTER I had taken the below photos so the screwhead is still visible in said photso)

The more realistic tire mounted & anemic-looking old spare shown for comparison.
NOW i can put ANY set of hubcaps I want on the jeep (as long as I have 5 of those hubcaps) & it will look normal.
P.s. Sorry that this post is so long... I kinda got carried away.
