Unhappy li-ion+heat+speed=killed run time/HEAT

i am running an xmod with two lithium ion 3.6v/650mah, stage two/11tooth motor and awd in my skyline. my car can break traction on all 4 tires, brushed concrete and asphalt. the power is incredible but the lithiums and the esc (board) are getting really hot!!!! but the motor temp. is normal (98F.or so) do i need to upgrade fet's or do i have defective batteries? the batteries i am using are maxell 7.2v digital camera battery (split) and i am using a digipower rapid digital camera charger. all bought at best buy. the car runs about 10 minutes and until it cools then i am off running again. how do i cool it down? other than that i love the performance.

I think the motor is drawing more current than the cells were designed to supply. This is why they're overheating. They'rs being forces to discharge quicker for the motor than for the camera. doe sthis make snese to anyone else?

Lithium Ion batteries don't like high current draws, AFAIK...

i now have upgraded my wire to #20 gauge silver stranded on the motor and battery side and have added a heatsink to my stage 2 motor heatsink(doubled). it is made up of a copper coil of #12 solid wire. i am now getting 30 min of run time out of my car and the car does not run as hot anymore. i am now thinking of upgrading the wire to #18 silver stranded to see what that does. mind you that i have the throttle pinned on a slick hard wood floor and am drifting around the house cause there is snow outside.

I have the same batteries, but I don't have the heat problems.
