hey, um well changing the fets basicly allows for more current to be passed from the computer chip, to the motor. however on a stock motor you will notice little to no difference, however if use a super modified high current drawing motor (note if you use such a motor on stock fetts they will fry, which makes a fet upgrade nessisary in order to run beefy motors) then you will see a great in crease in ferfromance...

heres an anoalogy, suppose you have a fan outside that you wish to spin with water from a garden hose. the pressue of the water would be like your voltage, the more pressure the faster the fan will spin, like are motors, and how they react to a 6 cell upgrade.. however if your hose is bigger in diameter, more water can flow, and by keeping the pressuse the same as with the small hose, you could spin a bigger fan, while the smaller hose would have trouble moving the fan...

hope this helps, so to answer you question : its only good if your running a beefier motor

ive seen a 260size in but its a butt load of fabrication... as for the 180 size, just the high performance 180s need fet mod... the orion team stock is fast (remove 15 windings) gives alot of tire spinning torque (even with reduced windings and a 11t pinion) and is safe with stock fetts, btw if you could check out my thread called "phyco reception" i got a big problem (2 lazy to retype) and no one has any idea how to fix it

thnx

No 180 motor I have used requires a FET mod yet. Even the hottest 180 motor I have wound still pulls less current than a stock stage 2 motor.

So what are some motors that would require a fet upgrade?

Is a Spinbrush motor w stage 1 innards safe? I've been searching a lot on it, but cant find a lot of info on if its safe for the electronics yet
