Rear suspension mod BC I need your help on this one!!
I was readind some of the threads and looking at my xmod and was thinking. I came up with a mod I am going to try. I have to find a pair of stock shocks though. I am going to try to make the rear suspension work off of one shock and not two. If you take one of the stock shocks out and take the bottom of the other shock and tie it to the other suspension arm you could have a rear mono shock. i am working on it right now. Please give me some feedback or let me know if thgis has been done. Then you could eliminate the suspension nubs on the bottom of the chassis which seem to be the lowest point on the chassis. todd

I have not seen it done on an Xmod before. I don't think it is going to work out too well with the way the rear upper a arms are mounted though. When they swing, the swing downward, not straight in. The single spring is not going to be able to fully compress due to the a arms not having the proper motion. Hope that makes sense.

Rear suspension
Yeah i looked at that but there has got to be a way. I made a prototype aluminum peice that uses a stock rear shock. I am still working on it though. I may hace to reshape the rear suspension arms. thanks for the imput. Do you completely remove the paint or just prime over it? I use enamel reducer and it completely removes the stock paint then I scuff it with 1200 grit sandpaper. I work at a body shop so I try stuff there.

I just clean the stock body off, and primer/paint right over the factory paint.

not gonna work too well, if one side hits a bump and goes up, the suspension arm will push the monoshock which will push the other suspension arm before it'll compress. it's a little like the bitcharg's suspension bars, push one side up the other side will come down. also, the single spring has to be stiffer since it has to carry the load of two springs now. i dont' see this as much of a performance advantage adn teh weight reduced by one shock assembly is neglible
