motorworks and painting
Well, I just ruined a motorworks body painting it with Krylon spray paint. I am going to get a new one, but I need to know if these can be painted.
Is there a brand of paint that is compatible? Has anyone tried primer first?
Thanks for any suggestions, but first hand knowledge would be best since I don't want to mess up any more bodies experimenting.

what happened to it???
and i would sugguest getting the car REALLY clean before painting, and of course, 5 thin layers is MUCH better than 1 thick layer
thin layer (to where you can still see through it)
wait 30 mins
thin layer
wait 30 mins
etc..

deffinatly get it clean,
these are my steps of painting,
1.scrub with a MOIST paper towel, (to get clean)
2. take a nail filer and see what paint i can get off, (not metal, it will grinf down the body, aslo do it very GENTLY)
3, spray primer into a paint holder, dip with brush and smoothly aply,
4. i add 4-5 very thin paint coatings,
5. dry overnight, dont place near extreme heat,
it usualy takes about a day to get done (to do it good) but its well worth it to have a custom body for competion,,,,,espacial with my first intial on the hood ''M''

Hmmm, the cleaning suggestion might do the trick, I should have known better.
I am an experienced modeler for at least 15 years, and have never seen anything like it. When the paint hits the plastic, it would seperate and pool(kind of like how oil and water seperate). so the whole car was dotted with dry patches and wet patches. The following coats on the car would do the exact same thing. By the time I got enough coats on the car that the paint would cover the dry spots, the finish was pitted because of the build up in the wet spots. With all of the fine details in the body, I didn't really feel like getting out the sand paper and giving it another try.
Have either of you painted a Motorworks before? Has anyone painted a motorworks before? The model I am doing is the hummer in the square bullet case.
