I've seen a few Xmod heatsinks lurking around that are lapped and polished. So i am soon planning to do this. I've done it with a few CPU heatsinks already so im hoping to use the same process. Now I was planning on possibly writing up a tutorial with pics on how to do this but before i spend the time to write it all up was wondering if there already is a tutorial or if someone else is writing one...just so i dont waste my time writing something useless.
Well could you explain what the process is exactly and what it accomplishes? That would be helpful...I don't think anyone has done this on the forums yet so you might be able to type up your tutorial. Thanks.

NO LONGER DEAD!!! WOO HOO!
Well first off it would be a little smoother for better heat dissapation=cooler motor temps=longer runtime knocking a little bit of the performance drop.
Other than that it will have a nice asthectic effect being polished to possibly a chrome finish.
get a Dremel or rotary tool and some rubbing compound and some polishing compound and get a polishing wheel for the Dremel. Put some rubbing compound on the polishing wheel and go over the whole heatsink about 3-4 times. then use the polishing compound and go over it about 5-10 times. Wipe off all the residue with a soft cloth (I like Kleenex) between compounds and when finished.
