teal gears will let you hit a higher top speed, with slower acceleration. These are better for wide open tracks where you can actually get up to top speed and hold it. Otherwise, orange or blue gears a good for small, technical tracks because they allow you to get up to the given top speed very quickly and allow you to hit stuff and slow down without loosing too much time in your lap.
