Springs Up Front Affect Steering!

What is the prolbem? They affect the magnets and it will barley steer. I know I got them from a clickey pen but what are you guys using? Don't the metal affect the steering? Im stuck I love the springs and don't wanna give them up HELP!

P.S. I s their special ones you use/\

I started out trying ball point pen springs, but they are steel, and hurt the steering.

I now use springs made for an HO slot car tune up set.
They are close, but a tad long, so I shorten them by cutting off about 2 turns.
It's not as wasteful as you might think, because the slot car wheels are simply incredible for tiny rc cars.
The rest goes into the parts box.
(Metal tabs are great for dual cells, leaving a couple of tiny pieces unused.)

I get these at my local hobby shop for $6.00

I made my own springs out of 36 gauge magnet wire, it's not magnetic, when there's no charge going through it...i just wrapped it tightly around a finishing nail, and then cut it to size, works fine... later

Hmm....magnet wire should be somewhat more compressible than the standard wires. I think I will try metal wire, and heat it once it is wrapped around a pin. That'll soften it a bit.
The brush springs are a good idea. I might have to sacrifice a slot car....
Alternatley, how do you get the pins off of the knuckles?
