Mazda RX7 headlights... covered with paint.. :(
My Bit char-g AM set with the blue mazda rx7... the headlights are not transparent (instead its painted over) and thats the place where I want to put my LEDs.... anyone have a way to remove the paint without harming the body...? And i dont want to drill holes in the car.

if you are really carefull you can use a really shap x-acto knife to shave off the paint......

Ok..
Have you ever done this or heard of some1 doing this? And if I do.. will the headlights be all scratched up or anything?

ive done it......this is why you have to be carefull, if you do little short scrapes it will be scratched, you have to go over the whole area at a constant speed......this is what i did on my zz GT2 and Lotus concept car....

You could also take a Q-tip and dip it in nail polish remover.
carefully wipe it across the headlight and the paint will slowly come off this will take many q-tips and shouldn't risk scratching the headlights but do not get any nail polish remover near the body paint job remember to be very careful and good luck

Doesn't the RX-7 have pop-up "frog" lights? Why bother to make the covers clear when the very headlights they are imitating doesn't make the light come out there? I'd say, wait, no, that would take a new paint job and a lot of work. But I was going to say, just drill holes pointing forward, almost horizontal, then put the lights in, then put putty around it to make it look like the pop-ups. err, crappy idea, don't pay attention to that...

cut light out and use a piece of clear plastisc i did it with a clone
