Oh, I love Christmas....

Today, when I was opening up my presents (there were 2 gifts for me from my parents), I got exactly what I wanted... A Yellow Mazda Enfini FD3S RX-7 ZipZaps SE Micro RC Starter Kit, plus the Initial D street tuner upgrade kit! It's awesome.....but when I used the green or red gears, speed seemed kinda slow. I then realized the chassis was heavier, and with the torque the NX motor & the green and red gears, it was obvious I had to use the blue ones. WHAM, that takes off nicely. Accelerates pretty quick too, in like 1-2 complete seconds.

I was thinking of doing the steering fix I typed up, but I decided that since my parents bought this for me because they wanted me to be happy for Christmas, I decided to avoid the risk of modding the internals. So, I'll just upgrade this little beauty to the NX motor and blue gears, Until I buy a Phast motor from RCmod and use that with the green/red gears, since the Phast motor is said to have lots of torque.

I turned the car on and the controller as well, and aligned the steering screw on the bottom to straighten the wheels. When I did, I noticed the turning to the right had less steps and a quicker response, but the left had more steps and is more proportional! Isn't that weird.....

Also, when I drive this little beast with the NX motor, blue gears, slicks (they came harder and cleaner than usual for some reason....a perfect Xmas gift! ), Enfini Shell, and Enfini hubs, it loves to flip a lot. I installed a flip bar with green twist ties, but it takes away that sporty look....So I guess I'll be screaming out of frustration evert time it rolls over.

It's a highly addictive toy, and I recommend it. This thing would go great with a layman's quad cell, but I'm leaving it as it is without breaking it and crying.....like a baby would

I guess RadioShack knows their stuff...but if only they used less resistance in the P.C.B., the car would be faster...

Also, I got the Playstation game "Gran tursimo 2" from my sister's boyfr....er, friend....(No, it's not Linus ) for christmas, but that's a different story....not related to ZipZaps SE...

Hmm, well Im about to order a motor, but since the MS/Bit I hear stutter in the SE, and the RS purple NX can only be bought with the Initial D setup (yucky bodies and expensive since I just want the motor).

So the Perfection works fine, but have you heard of anyone using the Phat in the SE yet? (Worried about the stuttering the MS seem to have)

Phat?

Well, not yet. I may order a Phast motor from RCmod and see how that works. As for the motor, if you just want a motor without the Initial D set, you could just order an R-Spec from the TinyRC shop.

Also, what stuttering does the MS have? Do you mean in range, or in the steering?

Err yes, "phast"

Q. Will the Bit CharG motor fit in the SE?
A. Yes, it will. The SE motor compartment is identical to the normal Zip Zap except that it has more of a "cradle" for the motor to sit in. I have also confirmed that the Perfection 4.2 motors will fit. I have noticed some issues with the MS motors, they have to be aligned up perfectly to make contact, and they sputter a little.

Yeah, the whole uneven propo thing is because the assemblers use unequal bias resistors that go from the steering encoder to the mainboard.

One of the bias resistors should really be a pot so you can get even propo on each side.
