i'm sick of this.. need help
okay i just exchanged my Xmod for a new one because my old one fried and had numerous problems. including shortend range (about 5 feet) when i bought my new one i switched all the parts from my old one to my new one and put the new parts on the old and took the old one back for a refund. now this one ran great for about 24 hrs. then i attempted to do a fifth/sixth cell mod. i wired it up ran fine. didn't try to put the shell on it or anything. it has since developed the same problem as my old one. it'll get about 5 feet away and start stuttering and if it goes further it'll stop moving till i get closer. has anyone ever had this problem and know what could be causing it or how to remedy it?

Uhh, try to make sure that the antenna is pointed UP and so is the car antenna. Also, even if batteries are fresh, maybe one of the car's batts may be malfunctioning.
I don't think it may be the RANGE, something must be caught in the axle or wheels...try the steering response at a far distance. See what you get, check EVERYTHING in the car.

i checked steering response it goes w/ everything else. and I would return it if i dind't just return one 2 days ago. antena is straight up on car and remote. if i hold the remote higher i get slightly better range but i'm like holding it above my head. i have no idea why it does this. the makers of these really need to look into it. cause its happened on both of mine for no reason.

One thing that I just noticed that you said was that you've tried it in your kitchen and in front of your complex.
I sounds to me that there is interferance comming from some of your neighbors. I have heard that cordless and cell phones can mess with our cars working the right way.
Also anything in there apartments that might be digital could also mess with the cars working the right way.
I would recomend trying to take your car far away from anything that was electrical including powerlines and see if your car works better.
If that doesn't work then your "RS" might have got a bad batch of cars. I hope this helps you out some...
