motor question???please help
i have a stock xmod and got stage 1 motors(not enough money for stage2)and i was wondering if it would be better to use topspeed motor because it has more torque than stage 2 motors or would it still be better to use roadrace

It depends on the course you are running. A more open course with long straights may llow you to use the top speed motor, but acceleration will be poor compared to the road race.
Why not use some washers under your motor mounts and try using some of the intermediate ratios while using the 11T motor?

by intermediate gears you mean using different spur gears with a pinon that wasnt meant for it right.
or you might try to change the timing. i dont know much about it though. i was in the process of learning and i forgot to turn off the soldering iron and know i have no access to any of my fathers tools

Yes. For example, if you pick up the washer kit at Radio Shack, you can put two washers under each of the motor mounts. Doing this gives enough clearance to run the 11 tooth pinion with the white idler gear, giving almost the same ratio as the 10 tooth motor with the yellow gear does. This is an easy thing to try, easier and less risky than trying to do the timing mod.
