New guy here, don't want to annoy anyone...

So I figured I'd ask a few questions not covered in the FAQ. I was thinking about buying a real ZipZap car, currently I own two micro r/c's, a Muscle Machines '02 Acura RSX, and a 64X Chargers Ford F-150 ext. cab. I haven't even drove the Ford yet because I'm too lazy to dig up a 9V battery for the remote. I'm not expecting anything too impressive because of the metal body.

So far, which vehicle and brand seems to be the best to sink some cash into? I was thinking about a ZipZaps SE but the guy at Radio Shack was tellng me a modded regular Zip Zap will blow away the SE's.

I was also concerned about the LED lights on the new ones draining the battery quicker, any thoughts? My goal is top speed and longest battery life.

Thank you everyone for any advice you can offer!

If you are modifying them, I would go with the SE. It is far and away a better driving car, and much more fun. A mosfet mod to the SE makes it the perfect micro RC. The lights on the SE will run the battery down little bit faster, but all of the other regular Zip Zap bodies will fit on it, getting rid of the lights and making the car lighter as well. I have several fully modified SEs and regular Zips, the SEs are faster and much more fun to drive, in fact I have only been driving the SEs lately.
