Need help mounting my eclipse!
I bought the 1/25 Fast and the Furious AMT Eclipse model kit. I haven't started building yet because I don't have any paint, but already I've run across problems:
the wheelbase is just a little bit larger than the longest wheelbase setting, and I don't know what to do. any help?
P.S. I also bought a revell camaro with the same problem.

Well you are probably going to shorten the body to make it fit.

Alright, well, the body isn't too wide, the way it is there now is without anything holding it up, no tabs or velcro or anything, just resting.
Also, I was hoping you wouldn't say that I would have to trim it , I don't wanna slice the body and then epoxy it back up.

Well its either shortening the body or finding some way to extend the chassis.

You might be able to grind down the insides of the fenders where it's too close to the wheels and then add a bit to the other side.... Maybe.

i could always make it have huge a$$ wheelwells like the first gen of some other car. i think the epoch spec1's had the biggies.
edit: i have all the supplies to make resin molds from back when i wanted to mold zipzap bodies. you think I could cut down the body and use resin to smooth it out?

I think that if you cut it and just slather it with epoxy or whatever you wanna use, then smooth it down with a dremel, or go old-school with sandpaper.

to get it to it's longest setting, on the bottom are two screws, they're near the back of the car. unscrew those, and you can slide the car shorter or longer. for the longer, you will need the long driveshaft, whichcomes in all the cars but the rsx i think.
ok, i decided to chop it up, and work from there and see what happens. there's approx. a half inch wheelbase difference between the car and the body. i was thinking of taking a strip of masking tape 1/2in. thick, and running it across the doors/roof of the car. this'll serve as a guide as to what part i'll chop out. any ideas as to what to use for cutting? im hesitant to use the dremel.

Here's an image (sorry i forgot to resize) of what i plan to chop out. the blue strip is tape, and everything under it is going. i figured that's the easiest part to chop out and repair, because there's no glass windowing on the sides, so i wouldn't have to worry about that, and it's not crossing through too many things. but if you see a better spot to cut away, please tell me.
