COOL you might be the next motor king I havnt done much with motors but I am leaning towards learning a lot more soon.

Here is a link that may help you.carmoworld motor help Check the other help links there also.

To get the endbell off desolder the wires and capacitors from it then very carefully bend those little tabs on the endbell out straight and carefully pull the endbell off.Watch for washers falling as the brushes tend to drag them off.

you need a pinion puller to safely take it off.

DOH I forgot the pinion puller, the one thing I will be looking for locally thursday.

I tried two flat screw drivers but it just slid the windings on the shaft, the pinion puller is the only good, safe way.

EDIT: You know if you really dont care about the pinion at this time you could cut it away or file it down to get it off. Just use a stage one stock motor and at least you will be able to tinker with the armature.(just a thought)

Why do you want to rewind the motor? If you don't know how to open one up then chances are your inexperienced to rewind the armature. What is it your trying to do?

On another note...if you have access to an arbor press(cheap at supply stores) you can get the pinion gear off by supporting the bottom of the gear, insterting a pin just smaller then the diameter of the armature shaft and pressing it out.

Why do Xmods use brass pinion gears and Mini-Zs use plastic?
