Civic SI 02
Hey guys,
I have bought a mini-x and I have begun to put it together slowly. I plan to use a SI body instead of the lexan bodies that the chassis comes with.
So far I have installed a hitec-H55 feather servo and micro Rs4 wires for the battery and motor. I plant to somehow upgrade the steering but still keep the servo where it belongs originally. I must say I am very happy with this car and looking forward to making it an evolving project.
I have never built a car model before , specially never painted one, so I bought a revel civic ex kit and I am giving that a paint job to see how it come out and learn a few things. I have attached pictures of both kits and WIP of the revel kit which at this point is ready for a color coat of Tamiya mica blue TS-50. I primed the car with gray Tamiya primer and it all ready to go. The Civic SI however will be painted with racing white by Tamiya on white primer.
Well, here are some pics, please post your comments!
Thanks

i was looking into these cars and had some questions. did you buy the bare chassis version (the one thats about 28.00?). how easy was it to mount the hi-tec? it looks like the whole upper portion of the servo housing has been swapped out with a clear plastic one. i have been debating whether to get the bare chassis and install my own electronics or to go for the version that has the servo, rcvr and esc included.

richh,
I decided to go with my own electronics (which is more expensive sometimes) because I already had them, otherwise I would have gotten the car with stock ESC and servo.
